This WaterSide Chat will feature experienced utility professionals, who will discuss how their utilities' have experienced great value from actively engaging their customers. They will share stories of success and best practices on how to take full advantage of an engaged customer base.

Ed Cooney is a public works professional with over 25 years of experience in both public and private sectors. Ed currently serves as the Program Manager for CSG Consultants, Inc., which provides public works and engineering services to public agencies. Ed has played a pivotal role in managing the Town of Hillsborough’s CIP to convert aging water meter system to automated metering infrastructure (AMI) system in the Winter/Spring of 2016-17.

Julia Escamilla is the Public Services Information Officer for the Rincon del Diablo Municipal Water District, located in Escondido, California.  With 18 years of service, she serves as the water District’s Water Conservationist and Public Information Officer. Previous to Rincon Water, Julia was an agricultural irrigation efficiency technician for a local resource conservationist district located in San Diego County.  Today, she is an elected local governmental official and sits on the Board of Director for the Mission Resource Conservation District.  She holds a degree in Environmental Policy and Management.
