Glendale Water & Power was one of a handful of entities to win a Resource Efficiency Award from the California Municipal Utilities, and the recognition marked the first time the department earned the award for cutting down on dependency. Much of the credit is due the department’s collaboration with WaterSmart and its software that enabled customers to head to the utility’s website to access data on how much water they’re using around the house on a daily basis.
